Motors for inverter and multiple pole
The speed control of asynchronous motors has long been regarded as a flexible and economical system to reduce costs and save energy. Nicolini & C. has developed a range of motors with reinforced insulation suitable for use with frequency converters at constant V/f. High performances in terms of moderate temperatures and high efficiency can be obtained by using high quality materials, such as magnetic lamination with excellent fluxing characteristics.
In addition to the normal choice criteria, the following points must be considered for the use of the motors through inverters:
- Correct dimensioning of both motor and inverter for the specific use.
- Insulation degree of the motor
- Balancing
- Bearing lubrification
- Cooling of the motor
- Noise level of the fan
- Electromagnetic noise
- Grounding of the motor, the coupled machine and the possible speedometer.
Motors with separated ventilation device
A system of separate ventilation will be necessary for uses with low RPM.
On motors equipped with variable speed drives (inverter) is recommended the use of a separated ventilation device that will allow an adequate cooling air flow in any condition of use.
Nicolini & C can supply, on request, servo-ventilated motors that can operate in the most various environmental conditions. Moreover traditional multiple poles motors with Dahlander or Pam windings for dual or triple RPM are also available upon request.
